Lucy’s Story
Lucy woke up with a fever on February 23, 2020. For two months, we went through the process of trial and error to figure out different issues that kept popping up, that we thought were related to her fever, which was determined to be a random virus. It turns out none of the issues were related to that virus. From anemia, to hip and back discomfort, to an extended stomach her doctors thought was constipation, we kept pushing and pushing to do whatever it took to get our little girl back to normal.
On Monday, April 13th we had a telehealth virtual appointment with a hematologist for Lucy’s low blood levels. The doctor focused mostly on Lucy’s extended stomach and recommended we come to the office for a visit. By Thursday, April 16th, we were in the office and back the next day for a sonogram.
Lucy was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma on Thursday, April 23rd. She has a cancerous tumor on the backside of her belly, spanning from the bottom of her lungs to the top of her pelvis. Chemo started the very next day.
Thank you again to everyone who visits this page to check on our sweet girl. She is strong, she is a fighter, and with the ongoing support from all of you in our community, you will give her the extra boost she needs to win her fight! ♥
